Block Energy has announced that a 3D seismic acquisition programme over the Martkopi Terrace prospect in the XIQ Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area in eastern Georgia is scheduled to begin in July 2026.
The survey, funded by Aspect Energy under a farm-in agreement, is expected to run for approximately three months. The resulting dataset will be processed and interpreted to improve subsurface imaging, refine the structural definition of the prospect, assess reservoir distribution and optimise the location of a future exploration well.
Independent assessment by DeGolyer and MacNaughton has estimated mean unrisked recoverable prospective resources at 301.7 MMboe for the Martkopi Terrace prospect.
The seismic programme marks the first operational phase of a multi-stage exploration campaign and is intended to support the joint venture's future drilling plans.
