EAGE Annual 2026 took place in Aberdeen, United Kingdom, marking the first time the city hosted the event. The conference welcomed 6,000 delegates from 661 organisations across 80 countries, together with 212 exhibitors and more than 1,300 technical presentations.
Hosted by bp under the theme “Maximizing Value Through Technology & Partnership,” the programme brought together professionals from industry, academia and government to exchange knowledge, build connections and discuss the role of geoscience and engineering in meeting energy demand, improving recovery, supporting the energy transition and advancing new technologies.
Highlights included the new Engineering Theatre, the MMV Technology Showcase co-hosted with the North Sea Transition Authority, and the first Geoscience Outreach Day, which welcomed more than 250 local students. The event also generated more than £15 million in added value for Aberdeen and the local hospitality sector.
