Viridien has appointed Henning Berg as Chief Executive Officer and Director following the company’s Combined General Meeting and subsequent Board of Directors meeting, held in Paris on 3 June 2026.
Berg joined Viridien as Chief Operating Officer in March 2026 and now takes over the role of CEO as the company enters its next phase of development. Sophie Zurquiyah, who has led the company through a significant period of transformation, will remain Chair of the Board of Directors. Viridien said this arrangement is intended to maintain strategic continuity and support the company’s long-term vision. The appointment was approved with strong shareholder support.
The General Meeting also approved Viridien’s 2025 statutory and consolidated financial statements, Say on Pay resolutions relating to corporate officer remuneration, and financial delegations and authorisations granted to the Board.
Berg brings more than 27 years of global leadership experience in the energy sector, including senior roles at SLB across several major global businesses. His background includes operational management, technology portfolios, service and project operations, M&A integration, and regional growth across Europe, Africa, Russia, and the United States. He holds MSc degrees in Thermal Energy and Fluid Mechanics and in Management for the Oil and Gas Industry.
Following the meeting, Viridien’s Board of Directors consists of nine directors, 78% of whom are independent and 44% women.
