TGS has been awarded a large 4D streamer acquisition contract offshore Angola, with acquisition scheduled to begin in early July 2026. The contract is expected to run for approximately eight months.
The company said the work will be carried out using its Ramform acquisition platform and multi-sensor GeoStreamer technology. The announcement did not name the client or specify the field or survey area.
For geoscientists and subsurface teams, the award is relevant because 4D seismic remains an important tool for reservoir monitoring and field development in producing offshore basins. Repeat seismic acquisition can help operators assess changes in the reservoir through time, support production optimisation and improve understanding of fluid movement and pressure changes.
The award also points to continued demand for high-end marine seismic acquisition in West Africa, where offshore Angola remains one of the region’s key deepwater and mature-field provinces.
