Fugro is expanding its digital geotechnical capabilities in Australia by establishing a dedicated GroundIQ® hub through the acquisition of Perth-based Galt Geotechnics. The move strengthens Fugro's presence in key growth sectors including infrastructure, critical minerals and energy, while accelerating the deployment of next-generation site investigation technologies across the Australian market.
GroundIQ® combines advanced sensors, digital workflows, AI and deep-learning algorithms to create high-resolution 3D ground models that improve subsurface understanding and reduce uncertainty during planning, design and construction. By integrating Galt Geotechnics' regional expertise with Fugro's global Geo-data capabilities, the company aims to deliver faster, more comprehensive and cost-effective ground investigations.
The acquisition is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2026 and will add approximately 35 specialists to Fugro's Australian operations.
