TGS, in a joint venture with SLB, has announced the commencement of the Pelotas Sul Phase 2 multi-client 3D seismic survey offshore southern Brazil.Covering approximately 11,200 square kilometres, the data acquisition will be executed by a Ramform Titan-class vessel.
Operations are scheduled to begin in October 2026, with final completion expected in Q2/Q3 2027. This new survey expands upon the Pelotas Sul Phase 1 acquisition from earlier this year, targeting a frontier basin that is increasingly drawing industry attention.
Prospectivity in the Pelotas Basin is underpinned by geological analogues along the conjugate margin, recently de-risked by major discoveries offshore Namibia.
The acquired data will span both open and held acreage, mapping turbidite systems, deep-water channels, and structural traps.
