Geoteric and SINTEF have announced a collaboration to develop an open AI agent platform designed to connect AI-driven seismic interpretation directly with reservoir simulation.
Built on open standards, the platform aims to enable specialised AI agents to work seamlessly across software applications, disciplines and vendors, helping geoscientists move more efficiently from geological interpretation to dynamic reservoir models while improving uncertainty management.
The collaboration combines Geoteric's expertise in AI-based seismic interpretation with SINTEF's long-standing research in reservoir simulation, mathematical modelling and scientific software. By automating interactions between specialised AI agents, the partners aim to deliver more verifiable interpretations, faster scenario evaluation and stronger decision support for applications ranging from hydrocarbon exploration to CO₂ storage and other geoenergy systems.
The first demonstration of the platform will be presented at IMAGE 2026 in Houston, showcasing how seismic interpretation and dynamic reservoir simulation can be integrated into a single, AI-assisted workflow.
