TGS, in partnership with the Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures (DGH) and PETROCI, has announced the commencement of the MC3D Vision PSDM reprocessing project offshore Côte d'Ivoire. The initiative will reprocess 14,691 square kilometres of GeoStreamer 3D data from multiple surveys acquired between 2014 and 2018, covering the deepwater Côte d'Ivoire and San Pedro Basins.
The reprocessing aims to overcome imaging challenges caused by complex deepwater geology, such as significant velocity variations in the overburden that can obscure deeper exploration targets and compromise amplitude fidelity. Utilising modern pre-processing, advanced velocity model building (including E-DMFWI), and Kirchhoff PSDM imaging, the project is designed to deliver a clearer definition of reservoir intervals and stratigraphic features across the margin.
David Hajovsky, Executive Vice President of Multi-Client at TGS, noted that the enhanced imaging will allow operators to identify and evaluate prospects with greater confidence, reducing subsurface uncertainty and maturing exploration opportunities in the region.
This project expands TGS's wider ongoing MC3D Vision reprocessing activities across West Africa. Fast-track products are anticipated in Q2 2027, with final deliverables expected in Q4 2027.
