Seven-week multi-client programme will target recently awarded licences and prospective open acreage on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Shearwater Geoservices has announced an industry-backed 3D multi-client seismic survey in the Norwegian Sea, marking the company’s expansion of its multi-client activities onto the Norwegian continental shelf.
Acquisition is expected to begin during August 2026 and continue for approximately seven weeks. Shearwater will deploy the Amazon Conqueror, equipped with the company’s Isometrix streamer technology, to acquire high-quality seismic data across the project area.
The survey is designed to cover recently awarded exploration acreage as well as prospective areas that remain open. Its industry backing indicates existing demand for improved subsurface imaging to support exploration and licence evaluation in this part of the Norwegian Sea.
“This project targets recently awarded and prospective open acreage, marking our multi-client expansion into the Norwegian continental shelf and adds high-quality backlog for our fleet,” said Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater.
The project adds to the acquisition backlog for Shearwater’s fleet while expanding the company’s proprietary data portfolio in one of northwest Europe’s established exploration regions.
