Fugro has agreed to acquire a minority shareholding in Dutch software company DTACT as it looks to expand its digital and artificial intelligence capabilities.
DTACT specialises in data fusion and intelligence solutions that combine information from multiple sources to support faster and better-informed decision-making.
Fugro said the investment would help it develop scalable solutions across its core energy, infrastructure and water markets. Potential applications include security, resilience and situational awareness.
DTACT’s FUSION platform allows organisations to collect, combine and analyse information from different sources within a single environment. The platform can be deployed across secure IT infrastructures ranging from cloud-based systems to disconnected networks.
The agreement builds on a partnership announced by the two companies in 2025 to develop an integrated intelligence platform combining geospatial data, satellite intelligence and other information sources.
Wim Herijgers, Fugro’s group director of strategy and technology, said the challenge for many clients was no longer accessing data, but interpreting it quickly and reliably. He added that the investment would strengthen Fugro’s ability to convert Geo-data into decision-ready intelligence.
