Viridien has announced the start of a dense multi-client ocean bottom node (OBN) survey covering 645 km² in the Frigg area of the Central North Sea, across the UK and Norwegian sectors. Final processed data is expected to be available in Q3 2027.
The survey will use OBN processing and imaging technologies, including Time-Lag Full-Waveform Inversion, to improve subsurface imaging in an area known for complex geology and reservoir structures. The new dataset is intended to support further evaluation of infrastructure-led exploration opportunities in this cross-border part of the North Sea.
The project is industry-funded and will become part of Viridien’s wider multi-client OBN data library in the region.
