Every year, our Local and Student Chapters play an essential role in welcoming new professionals, connecting people, and introducing the next generation of geoscientists and engineers to the benefits of being part of EAGE. The EAGE Champions Challenge 2026 celebrates the Chapters that welcomed the highest number of new Green and Bronze members over the past year. Thanks to their commitment and enthusiasm, our community continues to grow and become an even more vibrant and inclusive professional society.

We asked our Champions about their vision for the future, their plans for their communities, and their message to the wider EAGE network.
LC Stavanger: "This recognition is a meaningful milestone and a reflection of the community we are building together” said Anastasia Jacobsen on behalf of Local Chapter Stavanger. “Our ambition is to continue developing a welcoming and dynamic platform where early-career professionals, experienced specialists, and international talent can connect, exchange knowledge, and engage with forward-looking topics relevant to both industry and academia. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, whose support makes our in-person events possible and allows us to deliver value to the local geoscience community. We look forward to greater engagement from operators and warmly invite EAGE members to join us as speakers, partners, and active contributors."
SC Universidad Nacional de La Plata: “It is an honor for us to have been selected. We deeply appreciate the recognition of the work we have been carrying out. We already have plans to allocate the funds to strengthen the academic and professional activities of our Chapter. Throughout the coming year, we will focus on expanding our reach within the student community by promoting the incorporation of new members and creating training opportunities that connect students with both industry and academia. We believe these initiatives will contribute to the visibility and growth of our Chapter, helping us continue to build an active and engaged community.”
SC Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia: “It is truly an honor for our Chapter to be recognized as one of the winners of the EAGE Student Champions Challenge 2026. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and excited to continue growing within the EAGE community. We plan to use the prize to strengthen initiatives focused on energy coexistence, promoting a balanced understanding of the energy transition. Our efforts this year will also emphasize the development of both technical and professional skills for students, as well as regional outreach through educational and pedagogical activities aimed at bringing geoscience knowledge closer to local communities.
