Eni has been awarded a 100% participating interest in the Sapukala exploration block, located in the Kutei Basin offshore Indonesia. The new licence expands the upstream exploration footprint in a historically prolific hydrocarbon basin.
The initial three-year work program for the Sapukala working area will focus on evaluating the block's potential through comprehensive geological and geophysical studies, alongside the acquisition and processing of 1,500 square kilometres of 3D seismic data.
The block is strategically positioned near existing operational assets and the planned North Hub infrastructure, offering potential near-field development synergies in subsequent phases.
