Shearwater Geoservices has been awarded an ocean bottom node seismic acquisition project by Adura Operations for the Jackdaw field in the UK sector of the North Sea.
The two-month survey will cover approximately 220 km² and is designed to provide high-resolution OBN data to support reservoir understanding across the field. Acquisition will be carried out using the SW Tasman, with source capability provided by the SW Gallien.
For subsurface teams, the project underlines the continued role of OBN technology in mature North Sea fields, where improved seismic imaging can support reservoir evaluation, field development decisions and future production planning.
The award adds to the growing number of OBN projects in the North Sea, where operators continue to invest in higher-quality seismic data to better understand complex reservoirs and existing infrastructure-led opportunities.
