TGS has announced two seismic products that bring legacy surveys into consistent regional datasets to support exploration and appraisal across Alaska’s North Slope, Beaufort Sea and Chukchi Sea.
The Great Bear Merge 3D and Alaska Regional 2D-Cubed products combine the company’s existing data library with advanced processing and imaging, enabling interpretation beyond individual survey boundaries.
Reprocessing connects North Slope 3D surveys
Great Bear Merge 3D combines multiple legacy seismic surveys into a dataset covering approximately 1,366 square miles, equivalent to around 3,538 km², across the North Slope.
Reprocessing incorporates full-waveform inversion (FWI) to improve imaging quality and continuity between historical surveys. The resulting dataset provides a consistent framework for evaluating exploration and development opportunities across the area.
A regional interpretation volume spanning onshore and offshore basins
Alaska Regional 2D-Cubed integrates legacy 2D and 3D seismic data across a regional area of approximately 667,640 km², encompassing the North Slope and the Beaufort and Chukchi seas.
A unified processing and imaging workflow brings these datasets into a continuous interpretation volume for basin-scale screening. The product is designed to help users investigate relationships between offshore discoveries and the commercially established Permian–Cretaceous stacked plays onshore.
