The Call for Abstracts for the 88th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition is now open, inviting geoscientists, engineers and researchers to contribute to the Technical Programme ahead of the 15 January 2027 submission deadline.
Taking place from 31 May to 3 June 2027 at RAI Amsterdam, the Netherlands, EAGE Annual 2027 will bring together the latest research, technological developments and practical applications across geoscience and energy engineering.
At the heart of the conference is its multidisciplinary Technical Programme, which continues to reflect the evolving demands of the subsurface industry. While maintaining a strong foundation in geophysics, geology and reservoir engineering, the programme also explores the growing connections between conventional energy resources, carbon storage, geothermal energy, renewables and infrastructure geosciences.
The 2027 submission topics cover a substantial range of technical disciplines. Within geophysics, contributions are invited on seismic acquisition and processing, full-waveform inversion, seismic imaging and interpretation, distributed acoustic sensing and time-lapse monitoring. Geological and reservoir engineering topics include reservoir characterisation, geomechanics, production optimisation, integrated subsurface modelling and field development case studies.
Energy transition applications also feature prominently, with dedicated topics addressing carbon capture and storage (CCS), underground hydrogen and gas storage, geothermal energy and site characterisation for offshore wind developments. Further opportunities for contributions extend to environmental geosciences, mineral exploration, geohazards and emerging technologies for space resource exploration.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning are represented across several technical disciplines, reflecting their expanding applications in seismic processing, geological characterisation, imaging and reservoir engineering.
Beyond individual technical advances, the programme encourages contributions that connect different disciplines and demonstrate how integrated approaches can improve subsurface understanding, reduce uncertainty and address operational challenges.
Researchers and industry professionals are invited to submit original extended abstracts presenting new methodologies, research findings and practical case studies. Submissions will undergo technical peer review, with accepted contributions forming part of the conference's oral and poster sessions and published in the EAGE conference proceedings on EarthDoc.
Authors should prepare their extended abstracts using the mandatory EAGE template, with submissions consisting of four full A4 pages, including supporting figures and references.
The Call for Abstracts closes on 15 January 2027 at 23:59 CET, with the Technical Programme scheduled to be announced in March 2027.
