Shearwater GeoServices has been awarded a three-year Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) seismic acquisition contract offshore South America with a major oil and gas company.
Operations are scheduled to commence in Q4 2026, utilising the SW Tasman equipped with the company's proprietary Pearl node technology. The SW Gallien will support the campaign by providing source operations.
The agreement includes firm scopes for the first and third years of the period. Initial operations will continue through 2027, with the subsequent phase expected to begin in late 2028 and last for approximately ten months. The contract also establishes a framework for the potential award of additional projects.
CEO Irene Waage Basili highlighted the contract as a milestone for Shearwater's OBN platform, noting the deployment of its internally developed Pearl technology and the unique Tasman vessel design within a key global offshore basin.
