TGS has secured a contract to carry out a 4D streamer seismic survey offshore Australia for an unnamed repeat client.
The Ramform Sovereign is scheduled to mobilise in December 2026, with the acquisition programme expected to last close to 50 days. The contract will therefore provide TGS with vessel activity extending into the first quarter of 2027.
The survey will combine TGS’s Ramform acquisition platform with its GeoStreamer technology. By comparing newly acquired seismic data with previous surveys, 4D seismic can reveal changes in reservoir pressure and fluid distribution over time. These insights can support production optimisation, reservoir management and enhanced recovery decisions.
“We are very pleased to secure this contract award, which provides visibility into the first quarter of 2027,” said TGS chief executive Kristian Johansen. TGS did not disclose the identity of the client, the location of the field or the value of the contract.
