GeoSoftware has announced a technology collaboration with quantitative interpretation specialist Qeye alongside the release of updated versions of its HampsonRussell, Jason and PowerLog software suites.
Under the collaboration, the companies will jointly develop QeyeStudio, a cloud-based software-as-a-service platform for subsurface reservoir characterisation. The platform will combine Qeye’s quantitative interpretation and seismic inversion technologies with GeoSoftware’s software engineering and cloud deployment capabilities.
QeyeStudio is intended to support collaborative interpretation and computationally intensive geophysical workflows, allowing Qeye’s technologies to be deployed more consistently across teams and projects. The companies have not yet provided a timetable for the platform’s commercial availability.
In a separate 2026.2 software release, GeoSoftware has introduced updates focused on automation, machine learning and processing performance.
HampsonRussell 2026.2 includes improvements to AVO analysis, ProAZ azimuthal analysis and Strata pre-stack workflows. Updates have also been made to the Emerge and GeoAI machine-learning tools, together with changes to crossplotting, well ties and support for collaborative workflows.
Jason 2026.2 introduces RockTrace Prime, a new inversion workflow currently undergoing external testing. It combines additional automation and quality-control functions with a new optimisation algorithm. GeoSoftware claims the workflow can deliver performance improvements of up to eleven times, depending on the application. Other changes include faster stratigraphic horizon visualisation, enhanced gather quality control and additional data-export options.
PowerLog 2026.2 adds probabilistic matrix blending to its StatMin mineral modelling workflow. This is intended to improve the modelling of complex lithologies where mineral composition changes gradually. The update also introduces eleven deterministic permeability estimation methods for evaluating reservoir properties from well-log data.
Taken together, the announcements indicate an increased emphasis by GeoSoftware on cloud deployment, automated inversion and machine-learning-supported subsurface interpretation.
