As organisers of the 86th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition, we are proud to see the positive impact the event has had not only on the global geoscience and energy community, but also on the host city of Aberdeen.
According to figures released following the event, EAGE Annual 2026 generated an estimated £13.2 million economic impact for the Aberdeen region, supporting local businesses across the hospitality, accommodation, transport, retail and service sectors. The conference welcomed thousands of delegates, exhibitors and visitors from around the world, reinforcing Aberdeen's position as a leading international hub for energy, geoscience and engineering.
For EAGE, creating value extends beyond delivering a world-class technical programme. Every Annual Conference & Exhibition provides an opportunity to connect the global subsurface community with local industry, universities, research organisations and businesses. Delegates contribute directly to the local economy while also helping to strengthen knowledge exchange, foster international collaboration and showcase the host region's expertise to a worldwide audience.
This year's programme featured hundreds of technical presentations covering exploration, geophysics, geology, reservoir engineering, carbon storage, geothermal energy, offshore wind, digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Alongside the scientific programme, the exhibition created opportunities for companies to demonstrate the latest technologies supporting the future of subsurface exploration and development.
The impact of an event such as EAGE Annual extends well beyond the conference week itself. It helps build international partnerships, promotes innovation, supports local employment and reinforces the role of geoscience in addressing global energy and sustainability challenges.
We would like to thank Aberdeen, our partners, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers and delegates for making EAGE Annual 2026 such a success.
