BluEnergies has announced continued progress on its joint technical work programme with TotalEnergies in the Harper Basin offshore Liberia. The programme is focused on evaluating the hydrocarbon potential of Blocks LB-26, LB-30 and LB-31, where the companies are working to mature drillable prospects within the deepwater fan play.
Current activities include the reprocessing of 6,167 km² of legacy 3D seismic data by TGS, alongside a 4,045 km² multibeam survey and additional seabed geochemistry and heat-flow studies. Together, these datasets are intended to improve subsurface understanding and support prospect definition ahead of potential future exploration drilling. Final seismic products are expected later in 2026.
The Harper Basin forms part of the increasingly active West Africa Transform Margin, where renewed exploration interest continues to be driven by advances in seismic imaging and growing confidence in frontier deepwater plays.
