Ikon Science has brought Petrosys Group and Omnira Software together within a single organisation, creating a broader software portfolio spanning subsurface data management, geoscientific interpretation and business decision-making.
The combination links Ikon Science’s geopredictive and knowledge-management capabilities with Petrosys Group’s data management, seismic processing, integration, mapping and modelling software. Omnira adds tools for reserves management, production forecasting, petroleum economics, planning and capital management.
Together, the businesses aim to support more connected workflows from the management and interpretation of well and seismic data through to reserves evaluation, development planning and investment decisions.
The portfolio includes Ikon Science’s RokDoc rock physics, reservoir characterisation, pore-pressure and geomechanics platform; Petrosys Group’s subsurface data, seismic processing and mapping technologies; and Omnira’s MOSAIC reserves and economics platform and VERDAZO analytics software.
The move builds on increasing collaboration between the companies. Petrosys Group has already been developing an Exchange connector for RokDoc, designed to enable the reliable movement of well and seismic data between specialist interpretation workflows and corporate or cloud-based data environments.
All three companies are part of Carina Software, a division of Vela Software and Toronto-listed Constellation Software. Carina acquired Ikon Science in December 2024, adding it to an energy-software portfolio that already included Petrosys Group and Omnira.
The combination reflects the industry’s growing focus on interoperability and connecting technical subsurface understanding more directly with operational and commercial decision-making.
