Petroseismic has begun a large-scale, high-density land seismic survey in Chile on behalf of national energy company ENAP, deploying a suite of Sercel acquisition technologies.
The survey combines wireless land nodes with vibroseis equipment and vibrator control electronics. The high trace density is intended to deliver the subsurface resolution needed to image complex geological settings while supporting efficient field operations in a demanding environment.
Ahead of acquisition, Sercel provided a vibrator audit programme alongside technical and geophysical support, operational guidance and workforce training. Further specialised services will be provided during the campaign to optimise survey execution and data quality.
Petroseismic CEO Victor Marquez said the combined technology and field support enabled the company to achieve operational readiness rapidly and successfully launch the programme.
The project reflects the wider adoption of high-density seismic acquisition in Latin America, where advances in nodal recording and high-productivity source operations are enabling denser sampling and improved subsurface imaging on increasingly complex land surveys.
