Tetragon Energy has launched the first phase of an accelerated exploration programme across its offshore Philippines acreage, focusing on unlocking additional gas potential in the SC-80 and SC-81 permits in the Sulu Sea.
As operator with a 37.5% working interest, Tetragon has awarded a USD 1.45 million contract to DUG Technology to reprocess more than 4,000 km² of existing 3D seismic data, together with selected 2D seismic lines, using modern imaging workflows and high-performance computing. Initial fast-track products are expected within six months, with the final dataset due within a year.
The programme aims to improve subsurface imaging, better define prospectivity across the permits and support future farm-in discussions. The offshore acreage already contains two gas discoveries with reported gross 2C contingent resources of 470 Bcf of gas and 5 million barrels of condensate, while the company believes additional exploration upside remains across multiple play types in the basin.
The work follows Tetragon's recent ASX listing and marks the company's first major technical investment in advancing what it sees as one of Southeast Asia's emerging offshore gas provinces.
