PETRONAS, through Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), has signed an agreement with Iraya Energies to integrate agentic AI capabilities into its myPROdata upstream data platform.
The web-based platform provides investors and industry users with access to subsurface and surface data covering Malaysian exploration blocks, discovered resources and producing fields.
The enhanced platform will combine geological, geophysical, engineering and other upstream data with AI agents capable of autonomously analysing and connecting multiple data sources. PETRONAS said this would allow users to identify prospective areas, assess resources and evaluate development opportunities and commercial viability more efficiently.
“The enhanced PETRONAS myPROdata with Agentic AI capabilities will help investors navigate and assess Malaysia’s upstream opportunities with greater speed and confidence,” said MPM senior vice president Datuk Ir. (Dr) Bacho Pilong.
The initiative supports PETRONAS’ ambition to attract approximately RM50–60 billion in annual upstream investment and reduce the average period from discovery to first hydrocarbon from 100 to 50 months.
Iraya Energies will act as consortium lead integrator, establishing the technical, commercial and security foundations for the AI-enabled platform and its broader rollout.
