Viridien has announced a landmark multi-client collaboration agreement with the Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM), Morocco's national agency for hydrocarbon and mineral resource development. The partnership establishes a joint framework for Viridien and ONHYM to deliver integrated multi-client subsurface data and analytics solutions across the country's extensive and underexplored onshore and offshore sedimentary basins.
The collaboration aims to set new industry standards for subsurface evaluation, technical rigour, and knowledge exchange, ultimately reinforcing Morocco's position as a highly compelling destination for hydrocarbon investment in North Africa. Amina Benkhadra, CEO of ONHYM, emphasised that the partnership reflects the agency's commitment to fostering innovation and international cooperation. She noted that combining regional geoscientific knowledge with Viridien's advanced technologies will create a powerful platform to enhance subsurface understanding, attract investment, and accelerate regional exploration opportunities.
Dechun Lin, Head of Earth Data at Viridien, highlighted that the agreement marks a pivotal moment for the company as it deepens its presence in Africa. By integrating industry-leading imaging and data science capabilities with ONHYM's regional expertise, the enduring partnership is strategically positioned to unlock and support Morocco’s broader hydrocarbon potential.
