Mozambique has launched its Sixth Licensing Round for 16 areas, five of which are located in the Rovuma Basin, seven in Angoche, two in the Zambezi Delta and two in Save, totalling more than 92,000 km 2 .

Interested parties have until 30 June, 2022 to submit bids. licences are expected to be handed out in October 2022. Operators need to prove that they have more than $2 billion in assets.
The tender was launched three months after the approval of new rules reducing the time between the holding of public tenders for the concession of areas to two years, as opposed to three years under previous legislation.
