Lebanon’s second offshore licensing round for eight blocks has been relaunched with the closing date for submissions set at 15 June, 2022.
The Lebanese Petroleum Administration (LPA) is inviting bids on blocks 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10. Blocks 4 and 9 were awarded in the first licensing round.
The round was originally launched in April 2019. The initial deadline to submit applications was set to 31 January, 2020. However, at the request of interested energy companies, and later on due to the implications of the global Covid-19 pandemic the deadline was postponed to 30 April, 2020 and then to 1 June, 2020.
Once the applications are received, the LPA will prequalify applicants within three weeks after the deadline for submission of interest.
