TGS has secured a deepwater ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic contract from a repeat customer in its AMME region, with operations expected to continue into 2027.
AMME is TGS’s regional designation for Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The company has not disclosed the customer, contract value or precise location of the survey.
A deepwater acquisition crew is scheduled to mobilise during the fourth quarter of 2026. The project is expected to last approximately 100 days.
TGS CEO Kristian Johansen said the returning customer had selected the company based on its OBN technology and previous project execution. According to Johansen, the acquired data will support the client’s production optimisation activities.
The contract further extends TGS’s OBN backlog into next year and draws on the company’s combined seismic acquisition, imaging and data capabilities.
