Viridien has joined the Rice AI Venture Accelerator (RAVA) as its Scientific Compute Anchor Partner, supporting early-stage companies developing artificial intelligence for scientific and industrial applications.
The partnership will give participating ventures access to Viridien’s scientific-computing expertise, guidance on scaling AI workloads and enterprise-grade computing infrastructure. Its aim is to help companies progress more efficiently from experimentation to commercial deployment.
Viridien processes more than one million high-performance computing jobs each day across its global computing centres and has capacity exceeding 700 PFLOPS. The company will combine this infrastructure with its experience in optimising large-scale scientific and industrial workloads.
RAVA brings together Rice University’s research and talent ecosystem with the technology network of non sibi ventures. The programme is intended to create further collaboration between founders, researchers, technology specialists and established organisations seeking deployable AI solutions.
Anil Vattalai, EVP, HPC and Cloud Solutions at Viridien, said that many start-ups underestimate the complexity and cost of scaling computing efficiently. He added that the partnership would provide companies with both infrastructure and practical guidance for taking AI technologies into production.
